3. Registration and Account Security

Creating an account requires accurate info. You are responsible for account security and unauthorized access notifications.

4. Fees & Payment

You agree to pay for Services based on provided pricing. Fees are subject to change with notice. Unpaid fees may lead to service suspension or termination.

5. Domain Name Registration
5.1 Domain Registration Agreement

If you register, renew, transfer, or otherwise maintain a domain name through MCI, you agree to be bound by these Terms, this Section 5, the applicable policies and requirements of the relevant domain name registry operator, and, where applicable, the policies and requirements of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ("ICANN"). These provisions constitute the agreement between you and MCI concerning the registration and maintenance of your domain name.

Where a particular domain name is subject to additional registry-specific terms, those terms will also apply and are incorporated into this Agreement by reference.

5.2 Registrant Information

You must provide complete, accurate, and reliable registration information and promptly update such information during the registration period. This may include, as applicable:

  • (a) your full legal name or the legal name of the organization registering the domain name;
  • (b) postal address;
  • (c) email address;
  • (d) telephone number;
  • (e) administrative, technical, and billing contact information; and
  • (f) any other information required by MCI, the applicable registry operator, ICANN, or applicable law.

You must ensure that all information provided to MCI remains accurate and current. Where required by applicable ICANN policies or registry requirements, you must correct or update inaccurate information within the applicable period.

You acknowledge that providing false, misleading, incomplete, or inaccurate registration information, or failing to respond to reasonable requests to confirm or update registration information, may result in suspension, cancellation, or transfer of the domain name where permitted or required by applicable policy or law.

5.3 Verification of Registration Information

MCI may verify the accuracy and validity of registration information provided by you, including through email, telephone, documentary verification, or other reasonable means. You agree to cooperate with such verification requests.

MCI may suspend, cancel, lock, or otherwise restrict a domain name where required or permitted by applicable ICANN policies, registry policies, applicable law, or where registration information cannot be verified within the applicable period.

5.4 Registrant Responsibilities

You acknowledge and agree that you are responsible for:

  • (a) the registration and use of your domain name;
  • (b) ensuring that your registration and use of the domain name does not violate applicable law, regulation, or the rights of any third party;
  • (c) ensuring that the domain name is not used for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, malicious, or prohibited activities;
  • (d) maintaining accurate and current registration information;
  • (e) maintaining the security of your MCI account and domain-management credentials; and
  • (f) complying with all applicable ICANN policies, registry policies, dispute-resolution policies, and other requirements applicable to the domain name.
5.5 Domain Name Availability and Registration

MCI does not guarantee that a requested domain name is available for registration. A domain name may be unavailable because it has already been registered, reserved, blocked, restricted, or otherwise made unavailable by the applicable registry operator or under applicable policy.

Submission of a registration request does not guarantee successful registration. A registration becomes effective only when confirmed by MCI and successfully recorded by the applicable registry operator.

MCI may reject or cancel a registration where required by the applicable registry operator, ICANN policy, applicable law, or where MCI reasonably determines that the registration cannot be completed in accordance with applicable requirements.

5.6 Registration Period and Renewal

Domain names are registered for the registration period selected by you and permitted by the applicable registry operator.

Where renewal services are available, you are responsible for ensuring that applicable renewal fees are paid before the relevant expiration date. MCI may provide renewal notices as a convenience, but failure to receive a renewal notice does not relieve you of your obligation to renew the domain name on time.

If automatic renewal is offered and enabled, you authorize MCI to charge the applicable renewal fees in accordance with the payment method associated with your account.

5.7 Expiration, Deletion, and Restoration

If a domain name expires and is not renewed within the applicable period, MCI may suspend, deactivate, delete, or otherwise process the domain name in accordance with applicable ICANN policies, registry policies, and MCI's published expiration and deletion procedures.

Following expiration or deletion, the domain name may become subject to a redemption or restoration period, where applicable. Restoration may be subject to additional fees and eligibility requirements established by MCI, ICANN, or the applicable registry operator.

You acknowledge that MCI cannot guarantee that an expired or deleted domain name can be restored or re-registered.

5.8 Domain Name Transfers

Domain name transfers to or from MCI are subject to applicable ICANN transfer policies, registry policies, and MCI's transfer procedures.

You authorize MCI to process transfer requests and related domain-management actions in accordance with applicable requirements. Certain transfers may be denied, delayed, or restricted where permitted or required by applicable policy, including circumstances involving domain locks, disputes, fraud prevention, registration restrictions, or other applicable transfer requirements.

5.9 Domain Name Disputes

You acknowledge that registration and use of a domain name may be subject to dispute-resolution procedures established by ICANN, the applicable registry operator, or applicable law.

These procedures may include, where applicable, the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy ("UDRP"), Uniform Rapid Suspension ("URS"), registry-specific dispute-resolution procedures, court proceedings, governmental orders, or other applicable dispute mechanisms.

You agree that MCI may comply with decisions, orders, or instructions issued pursuant to such procedures and may take actions affecting a domain name, including locking, transferring, suspending, or cancelling a domain name, where required or permitted.

5.10 ICANN and Registry Policies

You acknowledge and agree that domain name registrations are subject to applicable ICANN Consensus Policies, Temporary Policies, procedures, requirements, and other applicable ICANN policies, as well as the policies, procedures, and requirements of the applicable registry operator.

MCI may amend or update these Terms and its domain registration procedures where necessary to comply with changes to ICANN policies, registry policies, applicable law, or other mandatory requirements.

Where there is a conflict between these Terms and a mandatory ICANN or registry requirement applicable to a domain name, the applicable mandatory requirement will prevail to the extent of the conflict.

5.11 Registration Data and Publication

You acknowledge that certain registration data may be collected, processed, stored, disclosed, or made publicly available through applicable registration data services, including Registration Data Directory Services ("RDDS"), RDAP, or other systems, to the extent required or permitted by applicable ICANN policies, registry policies, or law.

MCI may disclose registration information to registry operators, ICANN, registry service providers, escrow providers, dispute-resolution providers, law enforcement authorities, governmental authorities, and other parties where required or permitted by applicable policy or law.

Where privacy or proxy services are offered, their availability and operation will be subject to applicable law, ICANN policies, registry policies, and MCI's applicable terms for such services.

5.12 Domain Name Locking and Suspension

MCI may lock, suspend, restrict, redirect, or otherwise modify the status of a domain name where required or permitted by ICANN policies, registry policies, applicable law, court or governmental order, dispute-resolution procedures, payment requirements, security or fraud investigations, abuse procedures, or other legitimate operational or compliance requirements.

MCI will not be responsible for losses resulting from actions taken in accordance with mandatory ICANN policies, registry requirements, applicable law, or lawful orders.

5.13 Domain Name Licensing

If you license the use of a domain name to another person or entity, you remain responsible for ensuring that the domain name is registered and used in accordance with this Agreement and all applicable ICANN and registry requirements.

Where required by applicable policy, you must make available the identity and contact information of the beneficial user or licensee of the domain name.

5.14 Prohibited Domain Name Use

You may not use a domain name or related services for activities that violate applicable law, ICANN policies, registry policies, or MCI's applicable Acceptable Use Policy, including fraud, phishing, malware distribution, abuse, or other unlawful or malicious activities.

MCI may investigate suspected abuse and may take action reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, ICANN requirements, registry requirements, or to protect the security and integrity of the domain name system and MCI's Services.

5.15 Registrant Benefits and Responsibilities

You acknowledge that you are entitled to the rights and benefits applicable to domain name registrants under applicable ICANN policies and requirements, including applicable Registrant Benefits and Responsibilities.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or restrict any mandatory rights or protections applicable to you under ICANN policies, registry policies, or applicable law.

5.16 Third-Party Registry Terms

Where MCI provides registration services for a domain operated by a third-party registry operator, you agree to comply with the applicable registry's terms, policies, and requirements.

You acknowledge that MCI's ability to register, renew, transfer, restore, suspend, or otherwise manage such domain names may be subject to the acts, policies, systems, and decisions of the applicable registry operator.

5.17 No Guarantee of Continued Registration

MCI does not guarantee that a domain name will remain registered or available for any particular period where cancellation, suspension, deletion, transfer, or other action is required or permitted by applicable ICANN policies, registry policies, applicable law, court order, governmental order, or other mandatory requirement.

MCI will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide applicable notices and follow applicable procedures in relation to such actions.
